What are Roller Conveyors?

Mobility Engineering design, manufacture and supply both standard and bespoke roller conveyors, which can cater for any roller application or industry. The term roller conveyor literally refers to a series of rollers contained within a frame, adapted to the required length, width and height.

There are three distinct roller divisions : Gravity Roller Conveyors, Lineshaft Powered Roller Conveyors & Chain Driven Powered Roller Conveyors (commonly referred to as pallet conveyors).

Gravity Roller Conveyors are manual handling concepts, therefore products are either pushed along by hand, or (with the aid of a decline) flows down the track via gravity. Gravity roller conveyor tracks cater for light products (small diameter rollers at a close pitch) up to heavy products, such as pallets (with larger diameter rollers).

Lineshaft Powered Roller Conveyors, are as their title suggests, powered (via a drive shaft beneath the rollers) and are suitable for automatically conveying lighter products (such as cardboard boxes and tote boxes), which weight approximately 20kgs.

Chain Driven Powered Roller Conveyors are the more heavy duty and robust of the roller conveyor range, and are used in such instances as pallet handling, adapted for loads of (usually) 1,500kgs, but can easily be adapted to handle loads of up to 7,000kgs.
