Standard Belt Conveyors are generally used on assembly and packing lines
We design, manufacture and supply both standard and bespoke roller conveyors.
Chain Conveyors are predominantly used for very heavy, wide or awkward loads.
Magnetic Conveyors are used to carry mild steel objects from under or outside of a press.
Pvc/Pu Belt Conveyors (as well as Modular Belt Conveyors) are generally used on assembly/packing lines or in clean areas such as the food and pharmaceutical industries.
The traditional Pvc/Pu belt conveyor system is still widely used due to it being more cost effective than the more modern modular belting. In instances such as horizontal packing, picking or assembly lines etc, we would generally propose using smooth PVC. Where the belt is in contact with food we would recommend food grade PU.
If an elevation is required we would recommend a grip face rubber belt, although if the angle of inclination exceeds approximately 24 degrees the belt would have to include flights.
Many belts have a woven back which helps grip the end and return rollers. In addition to this we also supply belts that have tracking strip profiles underneath which fold down over the steel skid base, eliminating the need for tracking.

Gravity Roller Conveyor Systems are used in such instances as conveying trays, slave boards, cardboard boxes, plastic totes, etc., for either, simply transporting from A to B, or for use in Kanban scenarios.
As the title states, gravity means just that, using the force of gravity to move products. There is no power, hence it is simple and extremely cost effective. You can either free wheel the products manually (horizontally) or include a slight decline to allow a fall over a certain distance.
Because Gravity Roller Conveyors are extremely modular they can be utilised in many ways. They can form a crucial role when linked to the end of a powered system, for such purposes as packing and accumulation, or they can actually form full production lines, such as PC Assembly, Bedding, Industrial Batteries, etc.
ROLLER CONVEYORS Roller conveyors have great benefits for many different types of businesses. Automating processes can save time

Modular Belt Conveyors (as well as Pvc/Pu Belt Conveyors) are generally used on assembly/packing lines or in clean areas such as the food and pharmaceutical industries.
Modular (plastic) belting is now being used more frequently on belt conveyor systems because of it’s durability and it’s multi-functional properties. Modular belting is generally constructed from either polypropylene (temperature range of +5 degrees to +105 degrees), polyethylene (temperature range of -40 degrees to +60 degrees) or polyacetal (temperature range of -40 Degrees to +60 Degrees).
As it is a series of links, the belt can be constructed to suit the application. e.g. the links can be very narrow to allow small end drums for transferring products. Or, the belt can be an opened top flush grid to allow air or water to be passed through the belt. Or, the belt can have a radius flush grid for use on bends. The modular belt can also incorporate a grip top for inclines.

As well as traditional gravity roller conveyors, we also offer our range of versatile Gravityflex Conveyors.
The Gravityflex roller skatewheel conveyor is a more adaptable and flexible conveyor system, which can be extended or retracted to suit the required length and can also be manipulated to form curves and bends.
Both rollers and skatewheels, when extended, are at 125mm pitch. On the skatewheel version, the skatewheels are pitched at 100mm across the width, and are staggered to create a smoother run.
All projects are individual, therefore you supply us with information such as: a description of the product (weights and dimensions) and production environment, and we will tailor the most suitable set of components to create the most effective scheme.
The Chain Driven Roller Conveyor/Pallet Roller Conveyor is the most robust and heavy duty of the powered conveyor series, predominantly used for heavier products such as pallet/drum handling and storage, where the product is usually fed onto the conveyor by a machine or fork truck.
Powered Roller Conveyor systems comprise various components that are designed for both heavy duty usage and flexibility. They consist of sprocketed thick walled rollers, chain to chain or tangential (one common chain) drive mechanism, a fully enclosed side frame and an external shaft mounted motor.
Although heavy duty, powered roller conveyors are flexible and can incorporate such accessories as 90 degree cross transfers and powered turntables. Most companies producing large, heavy products rely on palletising for streamlining their production flow and storage capacities, therefore relying on pallet conveyors as a way of both conveying and buffer storage techniques.
Pallet conveyors can either be stand alone conveyors (probably one drive per 9,000mm of track – depending on load and application), or form fully automated zero pressure accumulation systems. Accessories would typically include: entry guides, blade stops, merges, 90 degree cross transfers, powered turntables and control system options.
Chain Driven Powered Roller Conveyors/Pallet Conveyors are generally constructed from powder coated mild steel (as standard). All pallet conveyor tracks utilise a simple robust and modular design with standard 76mm diameter rollers (mild steel bright zinc plated) set at approximately 175mm pitch. Most widths and lengths can be achieved, although this is dependant on the load, application and environment.
Powered roller conveyor systems are flexible and can incorporate such accessories as 90 degree cross transfers and powered turntables for multi lane storage.
Many production plants also use powered conveyors for full production, assembly and test lines, ready for end of line packing. Specific scenarios for using powered roller conveyors, include:- Pallet Handling, Automotive Manufacture, As Fully Automated Handling And Testing Stations, Drum Handling etc.
Lineshaft Powered Roller Conveyors are purposely used when situations require either the simple conveying of products or back to back accumulation, but with as little pressure on the leading product as possible (although depending on the exact application, they can easily be adapted to become zero pressure accumulation systems).
The Lineshaft Powered Roller Conveyor is the more light duty of the powered roller conveyors, handling products that are typically around 25/30kg, such as cardboard boxes, plastic tote boxes, etc. Typical scenarios for the use of this type of conveyor are : Order picking lines/stations, production lines, packaging lines, bar coding sortation systems and obviously the simple movement from A to B.
Lineshaft Conveyors provide an economical solution to conveying and accumulating items with a firm base. The rollers are powered from a drive shaft – mounted beneath the rollers and extending the full length of the conveying bed – and are driven via elastomer belts.
Roller Straights:- The roller section will be 50mm outside diameter x 1.5mm parallel tube. Grooves will be used for drive belt operation, with all rollers having anti static properties. Rollers will be fitted with dust tight, grease packed bearings together with hexagonal shafts, 11mm across flats, spring loaded.
Roller Curves:- Comprising a multi grooved anti static steel roller fitted with a plastic tapered, precision moulding. The curved sections are available in 30º, 45º, 60º and 90º angles.
Accumulation occurs via the design of the conveyor system, a shaft which is driven by an external motor doesn’t drive the belts directly, but turns inside a nylon spool. The rollers themselves are driven via elastomer belts. By stopping the package on the roller the spool stops. This type of system is generally used in such places where final production stages require the packaging of products into cardboard / tote boxes. Therefore lineshaft powered roller conveyors are generally sought in warehousing / packaging environments.
Main Advantages:- a) Versatile and economic powered conveying; b) Offers high energy efficiency; c) Accumulation with minimal line pressure; d) Modular construction offers system flexibility. These combined advantages enable cost effective purpose designed systems to be achieved, utilising standard modules.

Plastic Slat Conveyors are predominantly used, and are ideal in such industries as food and pharmaceuticals, where rapid speed and accuracy is of the utmost importance, plus they also have the ability to be washed down for hygiene purposes.
Plastic/Acetal Slat Conveyors are used more for the lighter products, and usually in the food/pharmaceutical industries, where narrow products, such as plastic tubs, yoghurt and ice cream pots, etc, are conveyed from various filling machines, through barcode readers and either straight to packing areas or straight into freezers, cool rooms or storage areas.
The design of this conveyor system allows for very fast throughputs in various configurations, utilising short bend radii, and also allows for the accumulation of product.

Steel Slat Conveyor Systems are predominantly used, and are ideal in such industries as food and pharmaceuticals, where rapid speed and accuracy is of the utmost importance, plus they also have the ability to be washed down for hygiene purposes.
Steel (usually stainless) slat conveyors are predominantly used for heavier industry, where the conveyor needs to be built to a very robust design, especially when handling heavy steel products such as automotive parts (presented to the conveyor via a robotic system), punched/pressed parts (from underneath machines), etc.
As they are generally situated in dirty and possibly wet conditions, the slats tend to be stainless, rather than mild steel, as their life expectancy would be greater.
Chain Conveyors are predominantly used for either very heavy loads, very wide and awkward loads, or where the base is not suitable (not flat or firm – product/pallet/stillages may have feet underneath) to be handled on rollers.
Chain Conveyors are, in their simplest form, chains that sit and run within guides, that carry the load.
Instances where chain conveyors are used are conveyor systems for: Automotive handling (where clients are moving large and awkward automotive parts, car bodies, chassis, trucks, etc.), Industrial (radiators and other products which are particularly wide or heavy).

Magnetic Conveyors are often viewed as the ‘magic’ conveyor system, as you cannot see a moving mechanical part. Magnetic conveyors are used to convey small mild steel objects, from either straight under a press or from outside the press, being fed from an internal conveyor.
The Magnetic Conveyor is literally a twin strand chain conveyor with magnet bars attached, which run underneath a stainless steel skid base. They can be of a horizontal nature or in the form of a swan neck, which would send the parts up into a bin (for removal by a fork lift truck).
For most applications the basic magnetic conveyor design remains the same, but all projects differ in length and width which has knock on effect with regards to the magnet type, strength and pitch.
At Mobility Engineering we can produce, design and manufacture bespoke magnetic belt conveyor systems for your business. A
