Every time our design and engineering team produce and install a new bespoke conveyor for one of our customers, it seemed a great loss not to be able to share our bespoke designs with all of our other customers and clients.

Although we have always kept records and photographs of past designs and installations, we decided that it would be great if we could share these with anyone who was interested or who may be looking for a new conveyor or to upgrade their systems.

Our sales department took it in hand to take additional photgraphs and video of our newest designs and to upload these to the Mobility Engineering You Tube channel. This means that we now have a fantastic record and history of our projects and designs online.

Anyone can subscribe to the Mobility Engineering You Tube channel and this means never missing out when a new conveyor or bespoke designed system is added to the page!

Have a look at our You Tube page and see some of our latest conveyor systems designs!

Who Are Mobility Engineering

Posted by Sarah Bardsley on Thursday, 20 June 2019 at 10:06:59

Mobility Engineering have been producing conveyors and conveyor systems since 1974. We design, develop, manufacture, install and commission conveyors and material handling systems from our purpose built factory. Our talented team of engineers, designers and project managers deliver bespoke solutions to suit a variety of customers from a wide range of industries.

Our full drawing/design office produces full working drawings, prior to any product/conveyor being manufactured, which offers the versatility of being able to offer more bespoke designs and layouts. Coupled with this, is our in-house machining shop and control design engineers, who are able to offer the control cabinet and full logic/software control system.

Generally (or more simplistically) conveyors and conveyor systems can be broken down into two distinct divisions - powered and non-powered. Non-powered conveyors are gravity conveyors, therefore, relying on gravity to get from A to B (either horizontally, by human resources pushing, or via a decline, so the product moves under its own weight). Being non-powered means you simply cannot control the movement/flow. Powered conveyors, on the other hand, are much more reliable and versatile with regards control and process flow. Being powered, you are in control of how and how fast the product goes from A to B, plus it can have the added benefit of accumulation.

Examples of powered conveyors are:

1) Belt Conveyor (Fabric) 2) Belt Conveyor - (Plastic Modular) 3) Powered Roller Conveyor (Lineshaft) 4) Powered Roller Conveyor (Chain Driven) 5) Slat Conveyor (Acetal - Plastic) 6) Slat Conveyor (Stainless Steel) 7) Chain Conveyor 8) Magnetic Conveyor

Mobility Engineering Facebook Page

Why do businesses such as Mobility Engineering have a Facebook page? It is now known that business owners who use social networking sites effectively are able to promote their businesses in very effective ways, and one of the best ways is with a Facebook business page. Facebook has become a staple for businesses and community organizations and here are a few good reasons why at Mobility Engineering we created a Facebook page for our business:

1. A business page on Facebook gives you a way to communicate directly with your potential and current customers. Your followers are there because they are aware of your company and want to learn more, and indeed they can expect to receive useful information about your company from the page, in fact, we often share videos of recently completed conveyor projects.

2. Facebook humanises your company. Social connections and genuine communication are integral parts of social media, and Facebook gives you an opportunity to attach a face, name, and personality to your brand. While your Facebook page may represent your company, it also allows you to show the human side of your business through one-on-one conversations, personal stories and case studies.

3. It builds a community around your business. Facebook pages are excellent places to gather your customers and prospects and ask them to provide reviews, news and share opinions. Facebook is a place which encourages interaction with your clients.

4. Facebook is good for search engine optimisation. Basically, a Facebook page is a great way to direct traffic (potential customers) to your business website and blog. Having a Facebook page which is linked to a business website can boost search engine rankings, so helping customers find your business.

5. Lots of people who use Facebook visit the site at least a few times a week. So, regularly updating your Facebook page and sharing links to your business website and video content of your business activities gives a business the opportunity to connect with customers regularly.

In 2018 more than 51% of the UK population will log on to Facebook and this percentage of the population is estimated to increase each year. An increasing number of businesses and consumers are using the website to search for products and services and Facebook makes if easier for potential customers to find your business. In summary, a business branded Facebook page can be a great way to expand your business's reach and increase online awareness of your brand
