Modular Belt Conveyors
Modular conveyor belting offers the qualities that manufacturers and designers look for. It is corrosion resistant, is high strength, has low friction, it is abrasion resistant and can be built to almost any width and length.
Modular belt conveyors or modular plastic belting is now generally used on belt conveyor systems because of it's durability and it's multi-functional properties. Modular belting is generally constructed from either polypropylene, polyethylene or polyacetal, depending upon the temperature range the belt is required to work within.
As it is a series of links, the belt can be constructed to suit the application. e.g. the links can be very narrow to allow small end drums for transferring products. Or, the belt can be an opened top flush grid to allow air or water to be passed through the belt. Alernatively, the belt can have a radius flush grid for use on bends. The modular belt can also incorporate a grip top for inclines.
Benefits of Modular Plastic Belting:
- It is hygienic and can be washed down
- It can withstand high temperatures
- It is tough and can handle high impact items
- It is abrasion resistant
Modular belt conveyors can be used to transport many types of goods including:
- Small items such as screws and components
- Plastic boxes and totes
- Heavier items on pallets
- Cardboard boxes and packages
- Irregular packages, parcels and sachets in soft packaging.
