Gravity Conveyors are a low cost and ergonomic (designed to maximise productivity) way to move materials. Gravity conveyors can be combined with powered systems to help reduce the total energy requirements of a conveyor system.
How Do Gravity Conveyors Work?
Gravity conveyors move a load without using motorised power sources. This will usually be either down an incline or an operator will push the load (usually a light load) along a flat conveyor system. Gravity conveyors can either have skatewheels or full rollers.
Gravity Skatewheel Conveyors
Skatewheel Gravity Conveyors are a very economical option for conveying light items such as trays or cartons. Skatewheel conveyors are very light and portable and easy to set up and move around - more so than full roller gravity conveyors.
Gravity Roller Conveyors
Gravity conveyors that use full rollers are generally used in the same types of applications as skatewheel conveyors, however, they should always be used where items may have uneven bottoms or where items stand on a rim as these would not be balanced on a skatewheel conveyor.
